Purpose of the job

Apollo asked us to help in their search for the perfect match because they have a challenging position to fulfil. We are looking for someone with an accurate view of purchasing procedures. In addition, it is very important that you have a good understanding of the supply chain and that you can make the connections within it.

What is involved in this part of the position? All products with production capacity in Europe. You will plan and manage the timely supply of new curing equipment (moulds, containers etc) as decided in the organisation for the production of new products, transfers between plants, and adaptation of a number of moulds of existing products to new forecast or production rules. You will also manage transfers, tooling purchases, etc, as per overload/ underload situations and planned production needs.

In addition to being responsible for a large part of the purchasing of European (raw) materials, you will also be involved in the production planning of different locations. You will manage the long and mid-term production planning of a segment in one of our plants. Finally, you will also support the analytical part of the supply planning, including the S&OP process.

Major Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities lie within the Materials department. With regards to curing equipment (moulds and containers) for all product lines (PCR, OHT, TBR, SM, TWT) and all European factories. The following tasks are included in this position:

  • You annually prepare the CAPEX budgets at the item level (quantity and amount);
  • Initiate CAPEX approvals (e.g. Quickbase) related to budget project items;
  • You will ensure accurate, complete and timely (i.e. related to PI plans) SAP purchase orders issued by the relevant factories;
  • You keep track of individual orders and check the actual purchases against subscriptions (quantity and expenditure);
  • You prepare quarterly reports on operational and financial progress, deviations and plan changes;
  • Contribute to the establishment of Group Master Supply Agreement (MSA);
  • Negotiate activities and/or items not fully covered by MSA with suppliers;
  • Liaise with suppliers about freight mode, freight scheduling, freight charges, delivery terms, etc;
  • As part of CFT for mould management, you plan and perform quality and process audits on current or potential future suppliers;
  • Consolidates capacity needs in coordination with the capacity planner;
  • You analyze the capacity problems and propose corrective measures;
  • You monitor the quality and service performance of suppliers and issue periodic reports.
  • Actively participate in and support the overall S&OP planning process;
  • Plan a portion of factory production on both a monthly and weekly basis;
  • Works with the factory planners for achievable production plan (monthly) and production schedule (weekly);
  • You share a feasible sales plan with the commercial team;
  • Works with the demand and inventory team to quickly capture changes in demand and inventory;
  • You design, implement and monitor relevant KPIs.

When we sum it up like this, we understand that it sounds like a heavy feature. And somehow this is because you work for a large international company, but at the bottom of the line nothing is set in stone with this position. There is a lot to discuss, many projects are underway and there is a lot of knowledge within the organization that they are happy to share with you. So don't let it scare you!

Skills, Knowledge and Education

To be able to fill this position, we are looking for the following qualities in a new employee:

  • Bachelor or Master's in a quantitative field and/or business;
  • Excellent analytical skills and proven experience in Excel, databases, BI & reporting tools are a plus;
  • Fluency in English, and knowledge of Dutch, German and Hungarian are an advantage;
  • 2-4 years of experience in Supply Chain or Purchasing in a technical industry (preferably automotive);
  • ERP knowledge & experience, preferably in SAP;
  • Negotiation experience & skills;
  • Broad understanding of finance and cost control & investment evaluation;
  • International experience & interest in multicultural environment.

Employment Conditions

It is also important to know what Apollo offers in return for this challenging position:

  • A gross monthly salary between €4,300 and €6,000 depending on knowledge and experience;
  • A full-time working week with a further developed employer;
  • Opportunities to grow and follow courses or training;
  • 24 vacation days with 16 additional ATV days;
  • You can participate in cycling competitions;
  • Standard travel allowance of €0.19 cents per kilometre with a maximum of 40 kilometres.
